Frequently Asked Questions

Pine shed with two windows, door and porch floor.
  • Our sheds take an average of 3 hours to install. Some of our bigger sheds take a bit longer.

  • We can place our sheds on a variety of bases; concrete, gravel, or grass. If a concrete base is prepared and you do not want the wooden floor, it is best if the concrete pad is the ¼” less than the shed size. For example, if the shed is 8’ X 12’, then the concrete pad should be poured 7’ 11 ¾“ X 11’ 11 ¾”. The cement pad should be raised a minimum of 3” off ground level. We can build our wooden floors on top of cement pads as well and in those cases, size of pad can be any size. All cement pads should be LEVEL and SQUARE. If your site is gravel or grass, the site should be as level as possible. We will do the final leveling but it is in the best interest of the customer to level the spot as close as possible as a good base which is key to the longevity of your shed.

  • We use Eastern White pine when we construct our sheds. Pine is very durable and weathers extremely well. We do not use chipboard, pressboard, or plywood in ANY of our sheds.

  • The floor is manufactured with treated floor joists at 2’ centers. We place patio stones under 3 points for each joist. For example, an 8’ X 8’ shed on a level area would require 15 patio stones. Constructing the base in this manner, provides maximum stability for your shed.

  • Staining of the shed is included with the base price and we have a multitude of colours to choose from. We stain the exterior of the shed to compliment the beauty of the shed and protect it from discolouring. Some customers prefer to let the pine weather naturally as well.

  • We have a lot of versatility with our construction method and therefore we are able to build our sheds in most locations. We need a 3 ft width to get into a backyard with no overhead obstructions.
